Bodegas Valduero are among the top wineries in Europe, making wines at high altitude (800-900m), with very low yields, with the aim of producing high quality wines with character and complexity. Yolanda, Carolina & Gregorio’s philosophy is to respect the land and allow the vines to express themselves without the use of pesticides, irrigation or fertilisers.
With 30 months in barrel and 30 months in bottle this reserva is from exceptionally low-yields (3.500 kg/ha). Powerful tannins blend expertly with notes of coffee and tobacco. The finish is long with woody notes underpinning the length. Best enjoyed after decanting with oven roasted or slow cooked lamb or earthy mushrooms and rice.
