La Tremenda Monastrell

Alicante is one of the oldest DOs in Spain, and wine has been made in this area for over 4,500 years. Founded in 1989, this 20 hectare Mediterranean coast bodega adheres to environmentally friendly production techniques: no insecticides or herbicides are used on their vines, and their soil is nourished by compost from their own cattle.

The vineyard used for the La Tremenda is situated 600m above sea level which, together with the Mediterranean sun, gives the wine a medium high ruby colour and succulent aromas of cherries and strawberries. There is a herby blend of rosemary, thyme and bay leaves on the palate, leading to a fresh and spicy finish.
