Bodegas Valduero are among the top wineries in Europe, making wines at high altitude (800-900m), with very low yields, with the aim of producing high quality wines with character and complexity. Yolanda, Carolina & Gregorio’s philosophy is to respect the land and allow the vines to express themselves without the use of pesticides, irrigation or fertilisers.
With 48 months in barrel and 40 months in bottle this wine is only made when the vintages are exceptional and with bottle runs at a maximum of 10,000 per vintage. Grapes are hand harvested and carefully selected from the oldest of Valduero’s vines (around 70yrs old), with very low yields (3.000kg/ha). The long ageing produces rich, earthy notes of toffee and leather, the tannins are still lively and give fantastic structure to this deep garnet wine. An incredible wine with power and depth.
